The traditional approach to wedding photography focuses on getting group portraits of the bride and groom, families, and friends. This is the best way of making sure there are photos of everyone there.

The other approach is the documentary style, where the photographer tends to stand back and take photos opportunistically. This gives natural photographs that capture the magic moments that make your big day so special.

The approach that you want is entirely up to you, but from my experience I have found a mix of these two styles works best.
